  • Approving your Parental Leave of Absence
  1.  Go to your pending approvals.
    1. Log into MySlice.
    2. Select the Human Resources and Payroll tile in the Employee Services section.
    3. Ensure you are in the “employee self service” view. Select the approvals tile.
  2. Open the request you want to approve.
    1. Select “Parental LOA” from the menu on the left side of the page.
    2. Select your online leave form.
  3. Review the details of your request.
    1. Select “view details.”
    2. Review the details of the request.
    3. Verify that you are listed at the bottom of the page as a pending approver.
    4. Review comments made by others, if desired. 
    5. If the details are correct and you do not want to enter comments, click “Approve.” You have completed your confirmation.
  4. If needed, approve with comments. Note: if any details are incorrect, do not approve. A comment will not override the details on the form. You must "push back" the form for corrections.
    1. Exit the details view by selecting the “pending approvals” button on the top left.
    2. Re-open the request.
    3. Click “approve” and enter your comment in the comment box.
    4. Hit submit.
  5. If needed, push back the request with comments to indicate that your planned leave is no longer accurate.
    1. Exit the details view by selecting the “pending approvals” button on the top left.
    2. Re-open the request.
    3. Click “push back” and enter the following: “My leave plans have changed.”
    4. Hit submit and contact the leaves administrator in your dean’s office.
