Syracuse University's Information Technology and Services (ITS) provides a wide range of computing services and facilities for students, including high-speed wired and wireless (AirOrangeX) Internet connections in the residence halls and across campus, e-mail, file storage space on the SU network, Web hosting services, online academic and personal information resources through MySlice, and computer labs equipped with specialized academic software technologies.

ITS also provides students with a variety of support options, including online support information, phone support, and in-person support services in the ITS Service Centers.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students who use the Syracuse University network are responsible for reading and understanding the University's Information Technology Resources Acceptable Use Policy. Areas of note are:

  • Hacking
    Any virus, port scanning, or computer hacking activities detected will be treated as a violation of SU computing policy and will result in the student's computer being blocked from the network until the matter can be resolved.
  • Copyright infringement
    Any reported illegal downloading or sharing of copyright protected data (music, movies, software, games) will result in the student's computer being removed from the SU network (wired, AirOrangeGuest and AirOrangeX) until the matter can be resolved.   • Antivirus
    Syracuse University requires all computers connected to the University's wired or wireless network be protected by a current version of antivirus software. Further information is available on our Antivirus Software and Malware Protection page.
