Unless other arrangements are made with ITS, only the instructors will have access to class sections in Blackboard.  

Archiving a Blackboard course takes the content of the course and packages it into a .zip file and uses the Blackboard architecture and file structure in the process. The result is a file which could then be restored into the Blackboard system. The packaged file contains the course contents but is not intended to be used on a local computer system.

Steps

Upon faculty request, ITS will archive a course and make it available to them. To request archiving of a course, contact ITS at 443-2677 or email help@syr.edu.

If you are giving a student an incomplete for which continued use of Blackboard is needed, ITS must be informed so appropriate arrangements can be made. For SU's policy on incompletes, refer to the Academic Rules
