Loading the Turning Account Registration Page
Depending on your browser settings, your computer may prevent the Turning Account Registration page from loading. To get it to open, you may need to enable it as a pop-up. Instructions for doing so are located here.
Creating a Turning Technologies Account and Connecting it to SU Blackboard
- Go to http://blackboard.syracuse.edu and login with your NetID and password.
- Click on your course.
- Go to Tools and click on the link for Turning Account Registration.
- Following this link will open your account profile on the TurningTechnologies website.
If you are using this for the first time, you will first be asked to accept the user agreement. Your email, name, and role will be automatically entered from Blackboard—you cannot change them. Check the box and click Accept.
- If you have already purchased a subscription and device from the SU Bookstore, you can enter the Subscription Code and Device ID. If not, press Continue until the wizard finishes.
Subscriptions and devices: What should you buy?
All students must have an active subscription to use the system. Depending on the requirements of your course, you may also be required to buy a clicker. You can buy these materials at the SU Bookstore or through your profile page on the Turning Technologies website.
Check with your syllabus and instructor to see what is required for your course.
If your instructor requires a clicker and you do not already own one, you should buy a "bundle" which includes both a subscription and a device. Spring 2020 pricing is as follows:
- RF LCD Clicker with 1-Year Subscription: $65
- RF LCD Clicker with 5-Year Subscription: $80
If your instructor allows mobile responses or if you already own a clicker you should buy a subscription only. Fall 2021 pricing is as follows:
- 1-semester Subscription: $25
- 5-Year Subscription: $49
Once you've purchased a device or subscription you should go through your Blackboard course to Tools and click on Turning Account Registration to return to your profile page. There you can enter the Subscription Code or Clicker ID (shown on the back of your clicker) to complete your registration.
Verifying your registration
Your profile page will always show your current registration status. Once you're registered, your instructor will need to update their roster in their software to confirm the changes.
If you are using mobile responses only, you need a green check-mark next to "Subscriptions" and "Learning Management System" to be correctly registered.
If you are using a clicker, you need a green check-mark next to "Subscriptions," "Response Devices," and "Learning Management System" to be correctly registered.
