Vendor Changes

In advance of the Fall 2022 semester, TurningPoint updated all of their branding to PointSolutions after a merger with Echo360. 

The following are provided as template examples for instructors using PointSolutions (formerly TurningPoint by Turning Technologies) in their courses. Instructors that are interested in including pricing information can check the price status by going directly to the store and logging in with their Syracuse University email address.

For instructors that allow clickers only

To participate in polling sessions and receive credit you must purchase and correctly register both a subscription and a clicker. 

  1. Create a Student Turning Account and Link the Account to Blackboard
    1. Go to the course Blackboard site and click Tools and follow the link for PointSolutions Account Registration.
    2. Login and follow the instructions to create an account, if you have not done so before.
  2. Purchase a Clicker Bundle with a subscription and associate it with your PointSolutions Account
    Clickers can be purchased as a bundle, which includes a subscription from the PointSolutions store. 
    1. Go to your Blackboard course and click the PointSolutions Account Registration link to access your PointSolutions Profile.
    2. From your profile page click the button for "Add or Purchase a Subscription" or "Add or Purchase a Clicker" then click either "Go Purchase a Subscription" or "Go Purchase a Clicker."
    3. Choose the bundle most appropriate for you.
  3. If you already have a clicker you can purchase a subscription and apply it to your account. You may purchase a subscription through the PointSolutions store by going to your profile and clicking "Add or Purchase a Subscription" and then "Go Purchase a Subscription."

For instructors that allow mobile devices or clickers

To participate in class sessions and receive credit you must purchase and correctly register a subscription to use with your mobile device or laptop. You also have the option of purchasing and registering a clicker to use instead. 

  1. Create a Student PointSolutions Account and Link the Account to Blackboard
    1. Go to the course Blackboard site and click Tools and follow the link for PointSolutions Account Registration
    2. Login and follow the instructions to create an account, if you have not done so before.
  2. Purchase a Subscription and associate it with your PointSolutions Account 
    You may purchase a subscription through the PointSolutions store by going to your profile and clicking "Add or Purchase a Subscription" and then "Go Purchase a Subscription."

Students have the option of purchasing and use a "clicker" rather than a laptop or mobile device. The optional clickers can be purchased in a bundle with a subscription through the PointSolutions Store by going to your profile and clicking "Add or Purchase a Subscription" and then "Go Purchase a Subscription."
