Jesse came to Syracuse University in 2019 certified through the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP). He is a U.S Army Veteran with over 14 years of IT experience across various industries.
Prior to joining Syracuse University, Jesse served as a Senior Project Manager for Capture, a software company in San Antonio, TX supporting safety net hospitals. Jesse’s responsibilities included the development and support of a new software architecture centered on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and development of a software continuous delivery model. Jesse was also responsible for ensuring a streamlined process from internal planning to customer deliverables.
Jesse also previously worked for Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia from 2014 to 2018. During his time at Liberty University, he was the Assistant Director of Network Operations with a team of 36 staff members overseeing day-to-day operations of the campus network infrastructure, call center development, wireless network and IT project management office. Jesse was also responsible for the planning, budgeting and emerging technologies efforts supporting over 100,000 in students enrolled across 600 unique programs of study and Liberty’s Division 1 Athletics program.
Jesse spent the majority of his career prior to Liberty University working for BlackBox Networks as a Project and Program Manager, where he served for over 7 years. Jesse’s responsibilities included the development and execution of Department of Defense contracts for various military branches. He managed the entire process from contract solicitation to successful implementation at customer’s location. Jesse was responsible for IT contracts domestically and internationally. Contracts included Wiesbaden Germany, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, Djibouti Africa, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar to name a few.
Jesse began his career in 2003 serving in the U.S. Army as a telecommunications technician in Okinawa, Japan. Jesse was responsible for the Defense Switched Network in Japan, serving dedicated military communications locally and abroad. While serving for the U.S. Army Jesse was selected to play lacrosse on the Pacific Theater Joint Services lacrosse team where he traveled throughout the Pacific, playing different countries in efforts to build stronger relationships between international service allies through lacrosse.
Jesse earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Eastern Oregon University and a Master of Science degree in Business from Liberty University. In his spare time, Jesse is a football and lacrosse official at both high school and collegiate level.
