What is iTunes U for?

iTunes U is a collection of rich-media content from a diversified community of education institutions around the world.  SU on iTunes U is Syracuse University's contribution to this collection.  it is intended to inform, instruct, entertain, and share the Syracuse University experience.

Quickstart -

iTunes is a free application for Mac and PC. It plays all your digital music and video. It syncs content to your iPod, iPhone, and Apple TV. And it's a store that lets you add to your collection 24/7. You can also upload and access content from Syracuse University to your iTunes library. From there, you'll be able to create custom playlists, sync to your iPod, burn CDs, or even share your SU-related content with others on your network.

Get started in four simple steps:

  1. If you don't have iTunes then download and install iTunes installation package for here - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.  If you have a managed laptop of desktop computer you may need to have your SU IT professional assist you with this step.
  2. Restart your computer and launch iTunes.
  3. Select 'iTunes U' within the iTunes Store and navigate to Syracuse University (University & Colleges --> Syracuse University), or launch iTunes and go directly to SU on iTunes U with this link - https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/DZR.woa/wa/viewArtist?id=396599565
  4. Find it. Get Organized. Here are some helpful tips:
    1. The Search box in the top righthand corner of the iTunes window will search the entire iTunes Store, including content from Syracuse University. If you wish to search just the Syracuse collection, use the Power Search feature within iTunes U and enter "Syracuse" as the institution.
    2. Every track you download from SU on iTunes U is automatically added to a "SU" playlist for you. You can also create your own custom playlists with just the tracks that you want, arranged in the order you'd like them to play.

You can also get the iTunes U app for iOS from the Apple Apps Store - http://itunes.apple.com/app/itunes-u/id490217893?ls=1&mt=8. This allows you to access SU on iTunes U on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.  You get access to all the same Syracuse University content as on a desktop or laptop computer with iTunes.
