Follow the steps below to connect Windows 8.1 to AirOrangeX.
Connecting Windows 8.1 to AirOrangeX.
You you must use the desktop interface in order to connect and configure AirOrangeX, not the tiles interface.
Step 1 - Connect to AirOrangeHelp
From the desktop select the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right.
This will open a window that lists the available networks. Choose the AirOrangeHelp network and click connect - do not select connect automatically.
Step 2- Download Network Wizard (Xpress Connect)
Open your web browser and navigate to airorangehelp.syr.edu. Click where it says "SU students, faculty and staff".
When Prompted to run or save, click "Run".
Step 3 - Run the Network Wizard
Run the file that was just downloaded and choose to Run anyway if you are prompted.
When the Cloudpath Network Wizard opens, enter your NetID credentials.
You'll be prompted several times to install network certificates, choose yes each time.
If the Cloudpath application fails after installing certificates you may try connecting to the AirOrangeX network directly using your NetID credentials.
Step 4- Verify Connection
After the the application is complete you should be connected to AirOrangeX automatically.
If your device is not seeing any of the SU wireless networks, or you simply can't connect to AirOrangeHelp, you may be having software or hardware related issues with the device. We recommend contacting ITS for further assistance.
If the device will not complete the "Connect to Network" or "Authenticate" step in the Xpress Connect Tool, please ensure that you have the latest Wi-Fi driver installed and verify your credentials on our NetID self service page.
If your desired browser is being redirected back to the AirOrangeHelp page, please clear the cache of your browser to alleviate the redirect.
