Course Tools and Processes

These sessions will all be conducted on Zoom.  Registration links are associated with each session.

Blackboard Basics

In this session we will go over some of the newly added features of Blackboard and talk about how you can use these in your classes.  Topics we will cover:

    • Using Announcements
    • Sending Email
    • PlayPosit integration
    • Zoom Integration
    • Learning Modules

Course Development Tools Open Discussion

In this session we want to answer your questions on how you can use the available tools and general questions that are available to you through the university.

Kaltura Overview

In this session we will introduce you to Syracuse University's video streaming platform Kaltura.  Kaltura allows faculty members to easily create or upload video to be used in your courses.

PlayPosit Overview

In this session, we will go through the basic steps of setting up a PalyPosit bulb and incorporating it into Blackboard.  Topics we will cover:

    • Overview of PlayPosit
    • How to access PlayPosit through Blackboard
    • Creating a PlayPosit Bulb
    • Capturing question results

Kaltura/PlayPosit: Differences & Similarities

In this session we will answer your questions about Kaltura and PlayPosit, and talk about which tool is right for the job.

Zoom at Syracuse Overview

In this session we will go through the basic operation of Zoom as a host.  Topics we will cover:

    • Different types of meetings

    • Meeting Settings

    • In meeting controls

    • Recording and how to share

Zoom in the Classroom

In this meeting we will discuss different ways of using zoom in the classroom.  This is beneficial for any type of teaching setup:  in-person, hybrid and online.
