Checking  Availability and Connecting Remotely

The campus Sassafras KeyServer web site can be used to check availability of workstations in computer labs for in-person and remote use, and provides the means to connect to lab computers available for remote access. You must have a Microsoft Remote Desktop client to connect to available lab computers from off-campus. You must first connect to the SU RDS service, and from there "double-hop" to the computer lab workstation. See the ITS Remote Access documentation on Answers for more information about SU RDS. See also instructions for connecting to computers available for remote access in VPA computer labs (below).

ITS Public Labs and SU Remote Desktop Services

All Syracuse University students have in-person access to computers in ITS Public Labs, and remote access to the Syracuse University Remote Desktop Services environment. Questions about these resources should be directed to the central ITS Help Desk by phone at 315.443.2677, by email to help@syr.edu, or by visiting room 1-227 Center for Science and Technology. Check availability of ITS Public Lab computers on Sassafras KeyServer.

Syracuse University Libraries

All Syracuse University students have in-person access to over 130 computers in Bird and Carnegie Libraries. Check availability of Library lab computers on Sassafras KeyServer.

VPA Computer Lab Classrooms

The College of Visual and Performing Arts maintains computer lab classrooms reserved for specific schools, departments or programs. Students enrolled in applicable VPA classes have in-person, and in some cases remote access to computers in these labs. Talk to your instructor if you have questions about access to VPA computer labs or the software available.

Check availability of VPA lab computers and connect remotely where available on Sassafras KeyServer.
