Vision
The vision of the Disability Community Group is to bring disability from the periphery to the center of our community’s commitment to and understanding of full inclusion.
Mission
The Disability Community Group seeks to foster a richly diverse and inclusive community of learning and opportunity, and is dedicated to reducing barriers and enhancing the campus experience for all individuals with disabilities.
Values
As people with and without disabilities and with multiple identities, the Disability Community Group is committed to being allies with all of those who live with marginalized identities as we work collaboratively to advance the lived experience of all with disabilities.
Purpose/Charge
The Disability Community Group meets monthly to discuss policy initiatives, process changes, community and resource development, current activities occurring on campus that may have a broader impact on people with disabilities, and to develop and implement disability community service priorities on an annual basis.
Membership
The Disability Community Group is comprised of University members with and without disabilities, whose responsibilities involve serving the University’s disability community, and faculty, staff and students with and without disabilities who strongly advocate for disability inclusion, rights, and justice.
