Syracuse University maintains a Professional Liability policy purchased through United Educators for the Social Work students who are engaged in fieldwork. The policy limits are $1,000,000 per occurrence and a $3,000,000 aggregate. This means that in any given policy period the policy would pay no more than $1,000,000 for any individual claim and $3,000,000 total payout on the policy.
The policy is a professional liability policy that covers the students while they are participating in an internship for covered claims arising from real or alleged negligence. The policy also provides coverage for legal fees and court costs.
