Departmental and Organizational Support Services
While the ITS Help Desk provides support to staff and faculty, we have limited access to many of your accounts and devices on campus. It is important that staff and faculty identify their organizational unit support personnel. These individuals will generally be the administrators of your Syracuse University email account, access to department and/or office resources (such as computers, printers, etc.), and are the support staff that would deploy to your location if necessary.

Computer LabsITS has public computer labs conveniently located around campus for students to use. The computers are directly connected to the SU campus network, allowing e-mail transactions and Internet access. A full list of software available at every ITS-managed computer lab is available on the public computer labs page. Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is a virtual desktop environment for students, faculty, and staff to remotely access a university desktop from any personal computer with a stable broadband internet connection. Some academic departments, such as Maxwell and Newhouse, manage their own labs. To access departmental computer labs, contact the respective academic department or visit School and College Support page. The Technology Guide brims with information on educational technologies, student computing resources, basic security concepts, and SU’s technology policies. It includes a campus map that users can browse for technology resources like public computer labs and email stations. Through the Guide, users can receive messages and notifications sent from ITS, and connect to ITS and other users.
To access the Technology Guide, go to the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store and search for "Syracuse University Guides." Or, visit the Guidebook SU Guides page to have the download link sent to you via text message. Install the SU Guides app, and then download the Technology Guide. Syracuse University Mobile is a free mobile application that provides a wealth of current information about SU, including secure access to student information in MySlice. The current version enables students to view their class schedules and grades, view exam schedules, and search for classes. It also enables faculty to view class schedules, rosters and grades. The app delivers the latest University news and events, access to SU’s online directory to search for students, faculty, and staff, campus maps, interactive SU social media, and more. LaundryView lets you see what washers and dryers are available in campus housing, and will send you status alerts for availability and for your load in progress.
