The following instructions are intended to complete the admissions acceptance form for undergraduate admissions to Syracuse University.
Undergraduate Admissions Only
The following steps are for undergraduate admissions only. If you are an incoming graduate student, please contact the graduate admissions office at 315-443-4492. If you are a non-matriculated or part-time student, please contact university college through their website or by contacting 315-443-4135.
Accepting Admission to Syracuse University
Please follow these steps once you have received notice that you have been accepted to the university.
Supported Devices and Browsers
To ensure proper log on and full functionality within MySlice we recommend using a Windows or Mac computer with Google Chrome or Firefox. We don't recommend attempting to complete this process on a smartphone or tablet. Note that you will also need to enable popups so that steps, such as making payments, function properly.
Log Into MySlice
Log into MySlice with your NetID and password. These credentials are manageable on the NetID self-service page that was used to activate your account.
Select the Admissions Acceptance Form
Once in MySlice, locate the applicant services applet. Click on Admissions Acceptance Form.
Accept, Decline, or Defer Enrollment
In the admissions acceptance form, you'll be able to accept, decline, or defer your enrollment to Syracuse University.
Note that deferring may require additional steps to accept admission to the university.
Review and Input Required Information
The next few pages will have you verify and input required information in order to complete your admission acceptance.
Review Student Information
Once you indicate that you plan to enroll you'll need to verify that the student information is correct.
Once saved, click Next to proceed.
Verify Personal Information
Next, verify that your personal information is correct. Note that this is where you can update your religious and ethnicity preference. You will also be able to indicate if you would like to live in university housing.
Once saved, click Next to proceed.
Verify Address and Contact Information
Next, enter both your permanent and billing addresses, your cell phone number, and your emergency contact information.
Once saved, click Next to proceed.
Provide Parent or Guardian Information
The following page will allow you to input your Parent or Guardian's information.
Once saved, click Next to proceed.
Identify Alumni Relatives
This page allows you to input information about any relatives that have attended Syracuse University. Note that this would be relatives other than parents or guardians who you listed on previous pages.
Once saved, or if you simply do not have any relatives to list, click Next to proceed.
Verify Previously Inputted Information
This page requires that you review the information you've entered on the previous pages. You'll need to confirm this in order to proceed.
Check that you confirm the reviewed information is accurate and saved the page. Click Next to proceed.
Complete the Student eSignature
Next, you'll need to complete the student eSignature. You'll also need to check off that you agree to the terms and conditions as well as acknowledge that you have read the tuition and fees booklet.
Once complete, click Continue to proceed.
Fulfill Parent eSignature Requirements
In most cases, you will be required to have a parent eSignature. To do so you'll need to create a proxy account so that they can log into MySlice and complete the form.
Create the Parent or Guardian Proxy Account
Note that there are two ways to create the proxy account. You can do so through the page found in your student admissions acceptance form (image below) or by manually creating it by clicking Set Up Additional Access under Share My Access. Manual proxy account creation and management instructions can be found on our Sharing MySlice with Parents or Guardians answers page.
Must Check Off AAF Access
Please note that regardless of how you create the proxy account, you must check off "Allow AAF Access". This will ensure that the parent or guardian will see the admissions acceptance form upon logging into MySlice.
Fatal SQL Error
If you get an error that says Fatal SQL error this is because the NetID that you are trying to use for your proxy account is already taken. Please choose another NetID and try again.
Once complete, click Continue to proceed.
Have the Parent or Guardian Log Into Myslice
Direct the parent or guardian to MySlice and have them log in with the newly created proxy account credentials. The email address listed in the account creation will receive an email with the proxy account username. They will not receive the password. The student must provide this to them.

Note that the parent account password cannot be managed in the NetID self-service page. If you or the parent/guardian have misplaced the password for the proxy account, the student will need manage the account by clicking Setup Additional Access under Share My Access within the student MySlice account.
Complete the Parent eSignature
Once in MySlice, have the parent or guardian click on the Admissions Acceptance form under applicant services and navigate to the eSignature page.
The parent or guardian must fill in the required information and complete the eSignature.
Complete the Payment Deposit Requirements
This page allows you to choose your desired method of payment for the deposit. Note that the amount owed can vary depending on your admissions and financial aid profiles. For more details regarding your financial aid profile and reward(s), please contact the financial aid office at 315-443-1513.
Before proceeding, ensure that pop-ups are enabled for MySlice. This is required if you intend to pay with ACH, a credit or debit card.
If your payment was successful you will receive a confirmation email.
Showing Balance After Payment
Note that it can take 2-4 business days for MySlice to reflect that your payment has been received. As long as you received confirmation that your payment was processed via a confirmation email, your payment is considered confirmed. Unfortunately, ITS does not have a way of manually confirming that this payment is confirmed. If you are concerned and would like confirmation of this step, please contact the admissions office directly. They are reachable at 315-443-3611.
Review the Admissions Acceptance Summary
Review the summary page to ensure that all the steps have been taken. As noted, it may take several business days for the payment(s) to be reflected on this summary.
Congratulations, you've successfully accepted admittance to Syracuse University.

Can't Log Into MySlice
Student Account
Please manage your MySlice credentials on our NetID self-service page. If you are unsuccessful, need further assistance or simply cannot produce the information to manage your account, please call us Mon-Fri 8a-5p EDT at 315-443-2677 and a consultant will assist you with your login credentials.

Parent Account
Note that the parent/proxy account is created and managed by the student in their MySlice account. ITS representatives have no access to these accounts. Access to proxy account management is located in the Share My Access section under in the Student Services section.

Issue Making a Payment
If you are getting to the payment page and clicking the links is not working, ensure that you have popups enabled for MySlice. Many of the payment options require opening a page to an outside website, a task often blocked by the default settings in most browsers. Details can be found on Answers to enable popups in your preferred browser.

Where Do I Activate My Syracuse Email Account?
Note that applicants are not provided SUMail accounts. Once you have completed the admissions acceptance form it can take multiple business days for you to become an active student. You can identify this occurred in your MySlice as you will no longer have "Applicant Services" and instead have "Student Services." At this time you'll be able to visit our student email log in page located at sumail.syr.edu. Your log in credentials are your full student email account (NetID@syr.edu) and MySlice password. After first time log in you can configure your SUmail account on your perferred devices.
Office 365 Pro Plus
As an active student at Syracuse University you are provided access to download and install office on your devices. This is done through your newly accessible SUmail account. More details can be found on our Office 365 Pro Plus for Students answer page.
